Fundraising for The Kent Autistic Trust

At Zuri IT, giving back is part of who we are, and this spring, we’re hitting the pavement for a cause close to our hearts. A team of 12 runners—made up of Zuri staff, friends, family, and even a few of our amazing customers—are gearing up to tackle the Paddock Wood Half Marathon. Our mission? To raise much-needed funds for The Kent Autistic Trust (KAT), a local charity making a real difference for autistic individuals and their families across Kent and Medway.

Understanding Autism

Autism is a lifelong developmental condition that shapes how individuals communicate, connect with others, and perceive the world. Everyone with autism experiences it differently—some might excel in specific areas, while others find daily tasks more challenging. This diversity means that support needs vary widely, from those requiring extensive care to individuals living independently. By learning more about autism and embracing these differences, we can create a more inclusive and understanding community.

About The Kent Autistic Trust

Since 1989, The Kent Autistic Trust has been a lifeline for autistic people and their families. They provide a wide range of services, including specialist housing, supported living, day centres, respite care, and family support. Their focus is on empowering autistic individuals to lead fulfilling, independent lives while equipping families with the resources and guidance they need to navigate the challenges of autism.

Shining a Light on Family Support

One of KAT’s standout services is their Family Support programme, funded entirely by donations and fundraising efforts. Run by a single dedicated family advisor, this service supports adults with autism and their families through online groups, training workshops, and one-to-one guidance. It’s a lifeline for many, offering understanding and practical help during difficult times.

A Team Effort

Our Zuri IT running team has been training hard, braving the cold winter months to prepare for the big day. Each runner has their own fundraising page linked to a team total, and every pound raised will go directly to supporting KAT’s incredible work. To help us look the part, we’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with Guy Whitby and Lily Rice at The Long Run Club, who generously donated their time and design skills to create striking running tops for our team. Featuring the KAT logo, these tops are a symbol of our commitment to raising awareness and funds for this fantastic charity.

Join Us in Making a Difference

We’d love your support to help us reach our fundraising goal. Every donation, no matter the size, helps The Kent Autistic Trust continue to provide life-changing services to those who need them most.

You can contribute by donating through our team fundraising page or any of our runners’ individual pages. Together, we can help ensure KAT’s incredible work continues to change lives.

Thank you for supporting us as we take on this challenge. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️
